• Women in Construction Week – 2019

    In celebration of Women in Construction Week 2019, we proudly spotlight three ladies who shine on our team, Angela Slone, Ellyn Veal, and Laurie Leischner. The successes of these women emphasize the growing role of women in the construction industry and beyond.

    Angela Slone serves as Regional Sales Manager for FiberForce™. She is responsible for sales and technical support for concrete fibers and their applications in the concrete ready-mix industry. She focuses on helping the ready mix producers increase their value-added revenue by spending much of her time working with specification writers to specify fiber reinforced concrete (FRC). Angela also trains dispatchers and sales personnel in the ready-mix industry by educating and equipping them to effectively promote FRC. She currently serves as an active member of the ARPA Concrete Technical Committee, ACI, NRMCA, and NPCA. Angela has served in sales and marketing roles for 15 years in the construction industry with a strong background in construction. Her experience in the ready mix industry provides her with a unique perspective and is instrumental in her ability to serve the industry as she works with the value-added champions within her customer base. Prior to joining FiberForce, Angela worked for Fibermesh as Southwest Territory Manager. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University.

    Laurie Leischner serves as FiberForce Technical Sales Representative in Oregon and Idaho. She has a versatile ready-mix background. Laurie joined the ready-mix industry working for a major ready-mix supplier as a Dispatcher and Plant Operator and quickly worked her way up to Assistant Operations Manager where she managed accounts and helped with troubleshooting mix designs and plant operations. Laurie also managed a concrete supply store where she gained a wealth of knowledge in concrete finishing and value added products. Laurie has served as Educational Marketing Director in the medical research and development field where she managed accounts and sales for over half of the United States with emphasis on product education and account growth and development. Prior to joining the FiberForce team Laurie was self-employed as a Business Strategist and Consultant with a focus on small business development. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Leadership as well as Organization and Management.

    Ellyn Veal serves as Applications Engineer. Her responsibilities include engineering support for our customers along with championing project lead platforms and preparing project submittals. She uses her engineering background andexperience with construction products to help our customers’ value-engineer projects byreplacing steel with concrete fibers for plastic shrinkage and secondary/temperature shrinkage (non-structural) reinforcement. Prior to her position with FiberForce, Ellyn worked as Civil Applications Engineer for Propex. Ellyn graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a BSCE, Civil Engineering.
